Greetings. Offered for sale is the original art for the daily comic strip “WALT DISNEY’S TRUE LIFE ADVENTURES” written by Dick Huemer and drawn by George Wheeler.

This daily comic strip panel was published on August 1, 1967. The art paper measures approximately 10.75” tall by 8.5” wide. It is not signed. The art is hand dated “8-1”. The strip was distributed by King Features Syndicate, Inc. as per the copyright indicia on the art.

This is the original art (rendered in pen and ink) for this comic strip, drawn by George Wheeler.

This daily is titled, “Warnings On Wings” and features images of birds who provide warnings to their flocks (Crows and Cockatoos) and to the entire forest (Blue Jays). Beautifully rendered images by a talented artist.

Comic Strip and Artist Information:

Walt Disney’s TRUE LIFE ADVENTURES was an American panel comic strip which ran from 1955 through 1973. The strip was based upon the Disney documentary films of the same title, and featured facts and information about animals and nature. The strip was apparently written by Dick Huemer (an animation pioneer and legend) and drawn by George D. Wheeler (1919-1989) for its entire run. Mr. Wheeler worked on many animated features and series including The Night Before Christmas, Sky Hawks, The Harlem Globetrotters, Pabbles and Bamm Bamm Show, Dynomutt, Lassie’s Rescue Rangers, Scooby’s All-Stars and Godzilla. He drew Young Paul Revere for Gold Key’s Walt Disney Comics Digest in 1975.

Condition: The art is in “excellent” condition on art paper. Minor spots and stains to art. Title is a stat which is missing a small piece and slightly loose. No stats or paste overs to art. Minor white out corrections. Engraving stamp and date stamp on reverse. Owned by an adult collector in a smoke free home.
