This one-of-a-kind quilt would be at home at the end of a bed, on a sofa, in the baby\'s crib, on a wicker settee, or brightening a room hanging on the wall.I found the fabric so beautiful - and teamed it with a pale blue in the nine-patches and border, and a light yellow for the inner border. I\'ve shadow quilted in the nine-patches, free motion quilted around the flowers in the 6\" squares, used a peek-a-boo heart pattern on two sides of the border and a running curved stitch on the other two border sides.The backing is the same flowered print and the batting is bonded poly. The quilt is machine washable, gentle cycle, cold water and may be machine dried on low or air dried.Size: approx. 40 x 48\"If you wonder why my quilts are not bound. I quilt using the ‘birthing” method, where all three layers are sewn together leaving a small gap for turning, which is then hand sewn together before beginning quilting. Some quilters think this is a method for hand tying rather than quilting, since quilting is sometimes more difficult in order to avoid puckers in either the top or backing fabric. But in my experience, the part that is the thickest, like cording on a pillow, will get the most wear. So … I prefer not to bind my quilts since the binding makes the edges thicker than the rest of the quilt. Also, when binding after the quilting is finished, sometimes either the back or the front must be trimmed in order to make the quilt square.
