Avintage fine bone china bud vase from the Wedgwood company, circa 1960\'s.

This lovely pattern is Hathaway Rose, which was introduced inin 1959 and discontinued in 1987.It features pink roses on a stark white background, with a gilded fluted rim.A classic and elegant design. The pattern repeats on the back.

The item is inexcellent vintage condition commensurate for age, no cracks, chips or crazing and it has retained it\'s original colour.

Note:Josiah Wedgwood (1730-1795) was a canny businessman who developed the familycompany to a global brand that is still in business today.

Patronage from Royal clients includedQueen Charlotte, George III\'s consort. After delivering the Queen\'s order, Wedgwood got her permission to call his goods \'Queensware.\'

His new innovation was the Classical style inspired by excavationsof ancient Greek and Roman sites.Combined with an earthenware materialhe developed known asjasper ware,this produced the blue & whitecameoitems that are commonly associated with Wedgwood.

The brand still conveys a sense of tradition and is associated with other prestigious companies such as Waterford and Royal Doulton.
