WHITE STAR LINE3 PART WHISTERIA PATTERN CONDIMENT/ HORS D\'OEUVRES DISH1907
This is a beautiful and quite rare condiment dish hand painted in the wisteria pattern and in excellent condition free from chips cracks or marks (some age related wear to the gild trim through use) will display well although unmarked this would most probably have been distributed by Stoniers of LiverpoolFew of these were made as they were not placed on a table but were used by a steward who would walk around first class area offering sweets / appetizers or similar from the dish which was specifically designed to be held from the underside These were only used in the first class area this one was probably used on the RMS Adriatic one of the \"Big Four\" (Titanic, Olympic Britannic & Adriatic) and records suggest that only 3 were used on-board at any time and only about 25-30 were ever made each compartment has the White star emblem to the base of the dish underside shows the registration marks and is dated 1907 dish measures 10.5 inches acrossWhen artefacts were brought up from the wreck of the Titanic only 1 of these dishes was found it now resides in the Titanic museum New York
