We are quite pleased to offer this fine late 19th century Whiting sterling silver lion paw tea kettle on stand.

The New York firm was founded in 1840 as Tift & Whiting. Became Whiting Mfg Co. in 1866.

In slender petal fluted oval form.

Elegant over-hang flower and leaf rim.

Cover with flower decorated bud finial, atop wavy petal surround.

Leaf accented overhead handle with original hand engraved heat stops.

The squared footed stand with petal fluted and leaf and shell supports.

Original melon fluted burner.

Atop leaf cap lion paw and claw pad feet.

Never monogrammed.

Whiting lion paw tea kettle on stand is just under 12 inches and 55 1/2 standard ounces.

Each piece hallmarked as shown. Marked sterling silver Whiting trade mark and code \"515\".

In excellent condition. Stands firm on table or serving tray. Handle secure and with original heat stops. The leaf and floral and lion feet retain original detail. Original burner in fine state. Mild wear.
