A LARGE WILLIAM McKINLEY SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH ASPRESIDENT

WILLIAMMcKINLEY (1843-1901). McKinley was the Twenty-Fifth President.

PS. 10” x 12”. June 1, 1899. No place[presumably the Executive Mansion]. A largephotograph signed “For H.L. Stoddard yourfriend William McKinley June 1,1899.” The image shows PresidentMcKinley seated at his desk, reading papers.Henry Stoddard was a journalist who covered many Presidents, includingthe dying Ulysses Grant. The largephotograph has a couple small cracks to the image. An old mat was removed, leaving stains on theborders, and a new mat can be placed to cover the faults. While McKinley isn’t rare in signedphotographs, many of them are smaller, such as cabinet cards. The signature is dark and the condition isgood.
