Hardback. xii, 178 printed pages

Very fine full green morocco binding by Bayntun-Riviere. Spine has five raised bands, gilt lettering and decoration. Gilt fillet to boards, illustration of Toad and his friends blocked in gilt to front board. Gilt decorated board edges and turn-ins. Marbled endpapers, all page edges gilt. The first UK edition to feature Rackham\'s illustrations. This was Rackham\'s final work, the drawings were originally published in the US in 1940 for the Limited Editions Club and didn\'t appear in the UK until this edition a decade later. A beautifully bound example and in first class condition. Overall Condition is Fine
