This is a very interesting mask from the Ivory Coast of west Africa.
A Dan peoples mask carved into a feline face, with whiskers and facial features of a cat. The only one I have seen like this.
The mask shows handling and wear, and has a worn interior and edges that indicate actual use.
The mask measures 11 inches tall and about 6 inches across the forehead.
A fine example of a Dan people mask in excellent condition
