Wagner was a highly decorated German War Navy operations commander during WW2!
Wagnerwas best known in WW2 as the Chief of Operations for the German War Navy, and was with Generaladmiral Hans von Friedeburg when he surrendered to British Field Marshal Montgomery in 1945.
Because of his military successes, he was awarded theGerman Cross in Gold.
The postcard size sepia black and white portrait print shows a large German Panzer ship and Wagner has signed his full name and rank as Konteradmiral, in blue fountain pen ink, probably postwar. The signed print has a tiny nick at extreme top (hardly notice) otherwise is in very good plus condition. Along with a modern unsigned print of the Surrender of German Forces to British Field Marshal Montgomery in 1945 (Wagner on extreme left), and another black and white print of Wagner as shown in the scan. Total: 3 items.
