Description of the serigraph (silkscreen) illustration

\"Ma Nishtana\"

(Why is this Different?)

The \"Four Questions\" asked by the children at the Passover seder.

Since the youngest member at the seder table is supposed to ask the four questions, the images depicted are of children. One adult is shown because he is supposed to answer the questions and also because adults are also supposed to ask questions.

The second cup is poured and the tray with the matzot is moved aside. Now children ask\"Mah Nishtana?\"

What makes this nightdifferent from all [other] nights?

On all nightswe need not dip even once, on this night we do so twice!

On all nightswe eatchametzormatzah, and on this night only matzah.

On all nightswe eat any kind of vegetables, and on this night maror!

On all nightswe eat sitting upright or reclining, and on this night we all recline!
