Offered here for sale is a beautifuloriginal rare oil on canvas, by the Jewish Uruguayan Israeli artist ZomaBaitler. Signed on the bottom right side “Z Bailtler”. This painting depicts a landscapein Jerusalem. Dates to late 1940’s. This expressionistic work by Baitlermeasures 47 cm x 56 cm (18.50” x 22.05”), framed measures 77 cm x 87 cm (30.32”x34.25”). This painting is in a good original condition. The beautiful woodenframe was especially made for this work. This in a one-of-a-kind originalpainting by one of Israel’smost famous artists. This is not a print, facsimile or any kind of mechanicalreproduction. It is identical to the painting that has been photographed forthis sale. For those knowledgeable art collectors, this Baitler paintingrepresents a rare opportunity to acquire an early work of this master Israeliartist.

Biography

BAITLER, ZOMA (1908–1994), Uruguayanpainter. Born and educated in Lithuania.Baitler, an impressionist, went to Uruguay in 1927 and exhibited forthe first time at the \"Free Artists Salon\" in 1931. He was one of thefounders of the atelier ETAP. Exhibitions of his work were held in North andSouth America as well as in Israel.In 1936 he issued the Art Magazine Perseo and wrote essays on art and on artcriticism. In 1963 he was appointed cultural assistant to the Uruguayan Embassyin Israelfor three years. His works are in the National and MunicipalMuseums of Uruguayand Israel.
