Zuni EDWARD A. BEYUKA Roadrunner Bolo Channel & Mosaic Inlay Carved Shells BEST:
$1600.00

Welcome!

This terrific bolo is being offered. It\'s part of a rare and best quality series by the wonderful Eddie A. Beyuka. I\'ve had some from the series, signed. There\'s one in my store now that is signed and from that series but that one has small damage and this one is perfect. It\'s also aesthetically perfect.  There can\'t be a more gorgeous piece of work, in my opinion. It is perfection.

Characteristics of this series is the roadrunner bird made of a striking strong turquoise and black jet with the capped head in white with a ring around it in black. These pieces always have unique carved stones and shells. One is always in the chest area. In the case of this one, there are leaves carved in the reddish coral or shell, which frame the bird perfectly with the silver foliage and golden brown wood at his perch. The design of the whole piece makes me ecstatic because it is so perfect. Condition is also superb vintage and collectible. These pieces are all unique and very rare. This bolo was made in 1968-1983, based on the Bennett which appear to be original to the piece. The tips work perfectly with t, being gorgeous old tips, just the right length and also being fluted. The fluting mirrors the carving. Everything works, from an aesthetic point of view.

This bolo measures 2-1/8\" high and 2-1/2\" wide. The tips measure 2-1/8\" high as well. The tie with the tips end to end measures about 40-1/2\" long. The tie is still in good condition and doesn\'t require replacement at this time. The bolo is unsigned and guaranteed to be the work of Eddie A. Beyuka. It\'s not marked for silver content but is at least coin (.900) and probably sterling (.925)  silver.

Edward A. Beyuka is one of the all-time great Zuni silversmiths whose work naturally varied from time to time but who is represented at top prices in all the best galleries and is in all the best museums. This piece is an example of the very best work he ever did. Highly collectible and a museum quality piece, one of the nicest of its type I\'ve ever seen. For the best of collections and museum quality, this is a splendid and special bolo.
