This is an old wooden Imperator music box that DOES NOT WORK! It is old and unique and looks like the lid is all in German ... The lid is really pretty on the inside it has flowers for a border and reads St. Louis 1904 and Paris 1900. One of the legs is not original one of the hinges on the chain side the bottom flap where the screw go in is coming up it might be stripped not sure i just noticed it. It has a couple teeth missing on the metal music mechanism and has an old scrape line down the front crank side of the lid also the front bottom area of the box is not perfect . I am just trying to be very descriptive because i am not an antique dealer and know nothing about music boxes. It is a nice decorative item the flaws listed are for information purposes and to me it looks nice nothing really stands out. There is some very old writing that is faded if you zoom in on the inside lid picture. The wooden crank looks good it turns but no music I wonder if it is missing something inside to make it turn to make the thing sound because it spins but does not make music....
