This is a very nice heavily potted small blue and white vase made in China during the Yuan dynasty in the 14th century. The decoration is a cobalt underglaze blue with a slightly blued clear glaze over the external surfaces, the glaze running inside the neck somewhat, but otherwise the interior as well as the bottom are unglazed.
The decoration is very typical of the era with four bands breaking up the composition. The central band is comprised of a scroll of 4 chrysanthemums above early type petal lappets. the cylindrical neck has 6 leaf petals around it. There are double rings dividing the panels.
The dimensions are: height: 5 1/2 \" by about 4 \" across at is widest. There are no chips, repairs, or damage . This vase displays much better than the pictures show. You will want this beautiful genuine 800 yr old piece for your collection. Good luck.
