c.1765 Frankenthal Porcelain Group The Good Mother German Antique Figurine 18th:
$480.00

Offered for sale is this 18th century Frankenthal porcelain group figure \"Die Gute Mutter\" (The Good Mother). The sculptor was Karl Gottlieb Luck (derived from the engraving Die gute Mutter by Laurent Cars and C.D. Jardinier after the painting by Greuze). This figure dates from around 1765. Here are a couple of links to this figurine in German museums:[link removed by style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;\">
[link removed by figure I am selling has some condition issues, so I\'m selling it \"as-is\", and I\'ve set the opening offer accordingly. I guarantee that this is an 18th century Frankenthal original, not a later copy. Despite the losses it is an amazing piece of early porcelain, look at the quality in the close up pictures. The figure is approximately 9.25 inches wide, and is approximately 7.75 inches tall. The most significant loss is that there should be a child in a chair behind her. There are losses to fingers, to a finial on the crib, one of the infant\'s shoes has been reattached, and there are probably some other losses. Please compare the figure I am selling to the museum piece. There has been some stabilization on the underside of the base. There are accumulations of old dust and dirt in the nooks and crannies - it could use a careful cleaning. Please see the close up pictures.
