Covers:

Thevolumes are uniformly bound in green half leather with red marble covered boards and edges, spines decorative in six compartments with raised bands, gilt lettering pieces to title labels in compartments two and three, repeated gilt pattern in the remainder.

Wear to the joints which are all sound and solid, covers are lightly rubbed with fading to the leather edges, marble is bright, minor shelf wear to the edges and corners which are a tad chipped. The spines are rubbed and a tad faded, head & foot ends are scuffed.

The bindings are in good condition.

Inside:

Marble lining papers, minor spotting to endpapers.

1 page publisher\'s advertising for the works in prelims.

The pages are a little toned and lumpy otherwise just the very very occasional brown blemishes.

Each volume is illustrated with on average 8 black and white plates, all free of rips or tears.

The majority of the volumes have all pages tightly held but there is occasional pulling and slight protrusion of some of the pages, with the occasional volume having a couple of loosely held pages.

Overall the set is in very good condition.

The books measure 18 cm x 12 cm and the books weigh 9 kgs
