Externally, in like new shape with only a few small wear points; the gilt still bright and shining. Hinges intact. All pages cleanly bound nice and tight, text slightly browned with a few small pencil annotations here and there; still clean and amazing! Signed on front EP, dated 1888, also newspaper clipping about Dante affixed to front EPs. Illustrated frontis & plates by the famous Gustave Dore. All pages red bordered, all edges shining gilt. A few Victorian broadsides from the publisher included, as shown, rare. 8vo. Hard to find copy! Good luck!
