Highly decorative Victorian stylized trade boards with embellished ornate gilt and black designs on both the covers and the spine, the front cover with a \'sunken\' lozenge of an angel holding a lyre, also in gilt with gilt bordering; strikingly designed with the gilt still shining, some minor rubbing, wear to the boards and slight fading to the spine. Hinges repaired, now intact. Page edges shining gilt. Includes famous poem Paradise Lost, also a few other works as well. All pages bordered with multi-colored illustratedframes, part of the trademark \'Landscape Poets\' series, as shown, some very minor foxing and toning, some edgewear to title, remounted, else fine. Complete; illustrated with some plates, as issued. Bookplate of a Harriet S Purdy on pastedown, else unmarked. Remains a striking shelf presence. Usual 8vo sized. Good
