On the reverse of these four lovely gold accented demitasse cups and saucers is the red decorator\'s backstamp number 8a of Charles Ahrenfeldt, one of the great Limoges firms at the turn of the last century. This mark was in use between 1894 and the 1930s.
The green Ahrenfeldt white ware mark number 4 appears on the cups; the saucers have mark number 6. These marks indicate that the porcelain was also produced between 1894 and the 1930s.
The four sets feature variations of the beautiful design - two pink, one purple and one lavender - against a background of thin, translucent textured white porcelain, in keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company\'s products so famous, and so coveted.
The cups feature an elegant sculpted and mottled gold handle.
All the pieces are in excellent condition, especially considering their age and fragile material. There are no chips, cracks, nicks, stains, repairs, crazing, utensil marks or wear.
The cups are 2 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches in diameter. The saucers are 4 5/8 inches in diameter.
