This rare original document is a Quartermaster invoice receipt for the transfer of uniform coats, forage caps, drawers, flannel shirts, rubber blankets, great coats, campaign hats, etc. from Lieut. LR Hare (Regimental Quartermaster) of the US 7th Cavalry regiment to Captain DD Van Valzah Co \"D\" 25th Infantry Regiment (a buffalo soldier outfit) at Fort Meade, Dakota Territory.Please continue to watch my sales.A few years ago I purchased a large box of Indian Wars period papers all of which belonged to Colonel DD Van Valzah who served with and later commanded the 25th Infantry. The documents date from the late 1860\'s to about 1900. Near every document relates to black troops and Western forts. Sadly many of these rare documents are in poor condition.
