This is a very highquality antique early 19th century solid bronze figuraldolphin front door knocker.It is made from solid bronze, has acquired a lovely patina from age and is extremely heavy.it depicts a stylized dolphin and has very intense detailing.the body of the fish pivots back and forth by the tail and the knocker is under the head whichstrikes the door creating aloud bang.the hinge is heavy duty and works great.the backplate is a nice rectangular shape and is also very ornatethere is a threaded hold in the back tobe ableto mount the piece.it is in stunning antique shape measuring 5 1/8 inches long by 3 inches wide and sits 2 1/4 inches from the door.it is an extremely heavy- highquality piece.
