offered is a fabulous 1932 german made art deco modernist sarastro pocket petrol windproof cigar lighter. the 900 silver case nickel plated side press lighter features fabulous modernistic geometric design on front with dimple back. the unusual lighter is marked on the side edge metall welsch estanco peru plus work number. i have shown a photo from the broesan lighter book dating this model to 1938 which is incorrect. one edge is also marked 900 for the silver content of the case. this is an extremely rare german art deco automatic side press model especially in original condition. i am quite sure this beautiful silver case was made in the loius kuppenheim workshop which also produced beautiful enamel lighters for alfred dunhill of london. please see the first kuppenheim page from the bottoni dunhill lighter book. the well made lighter measures 1-1/4\" tall x 2\" wide and and is in excellent lite used condition. some typical age tarnish will clean.if desired. the mechanism moves correctly but untested with flint and fuel. it will likely operate with proper service. overall - an important german made 1932 art deco sarastro automatic lighter for your collection. this lighter is a true art deco vintage lighter \"gem\". kuppenheim is the most important of all the 1920\'s - 1930\'s lighter workshops. usa first class ship cost includes insurance. overseas is registered first class airmail.
