I bought this 1940\'s-50\'s Benrus watch serviced from a dealer several years ago.
wore it a few times. looked at it more and now it\'s time to let it loose upon another wrist or collection. Benrus was an All American Watch company that used Swiss and German parts,
the company was formed in the roaring 20\'s in New York City. the name is Benrus is the combined name of the owners name mended as one. Benjamin and Lazarus. There are less Benrus watches than there are Hamiltons Bulovas and Longines, since they were only in business for 30 years. The company folded in the 1950\'s. They are mostly overlooked. But people forget that Benrus is the American Dream that came to life in New York. they were a small company that went up against giants and survived for a little over 30 years with great designs such as this.
IT is a beautiful satin dial. has the red white blue under the Benrus.
17 jewels. works well winds smooth. great matching leather brown band.
10k gold filled case front and back. 36mm up and down
22mm side to side with crown. Beautiful horned lugs, desirable for unusual cases.
gold filled crown in great condition.
this is a turn key watch ready to be worn and enjoyed. also has new old stock domed glass.
