I\'ve been helping an elderly relative downsize and came across several vintage Glencroft copper pieces These likely date to the 1960s or 1970s.
This listing is for two copper plates, or chargers, measuring just about 11\" in diameter. They are in excellent condition with little signs of use. These are heavy plates, each weighting just over 1.25 lbs.
A little history about Glencroft - In the 1950’s Glencroft Coppersmith Shop was established by Glen Reece in Clarence, New York. Glen Reece became known for his hand wrought copper gift items, styled after those that had been made in earlier years at Elbert Hubbard’s original Roycroft Coppershop in nearby East Aurora, NY. In fact, Mr. Reece made many of the copper items that were sold at the Roycroft gift shop in the later years, using some of the same wooden molds and designs that originated in the Roycroft Coppershop and were later used by Walter Jennings and Arthur Cole at the Avon Coppersmith in Avon, NY.
