Description

An old, early 20C I am guessing, hand made / hand sewn Native American doll. Body is made of a deep Tobacco colored buckskin or soft hide. Face is articulated with glass beads at neck & around waist in front. Bottom outside edge of legs has fringe. The arms terminate in fringed fingers and are pinched and twisted just above the hand. Soft fat wool yarn is sewn into the back of the head, some strands have come loose. This figure / dol has small ears.

I am not sure what the doll is stuffed with.

Measures approx. 8-1/2" long not including the black yarn hair which stick up past the head about 1".

There is a small slit (it looks like) on the face at the viewers left eye.

In very good old condition, some stitiching letting loose in front diagonal chest area, age related surface soiling & the buckskin is "shedding" a little, it leaves a light trace I noticed on a white cloth.
