vtg antique ORDER of the AMARANTH gold Bullion PATCH Master Masonic Eastern Star:
$45.49
Welcome!
I pay the shipping charges via economy mail, on this neat piece within the USA.Description------- This sale is for one (1), I believe to be rare, and absolutely authentic, antique cloth patch - a symbol of the Order of the Amaranth, which is an offshoot of Freemasonry created specifically for the female relatives of Master Masons. This patch would have been sewn to a blazer or clothing. Age is most certainly pre-1950, and probably closer to 1900.As Wikipedia says -
\"Order of the Amaranth The ritual of the Order of the Amaranth was conceived in 1860 to be loosely based on a society with a similar name instituted over two centuries earlier by Queen Christina of Sweden. Open to master masons and their female relatives, members were once compelled to join the Order of the Eastern Star first, but the two organisations became separate in 1921.\"The symbols on the patch are the CROWN and the inverted STAR or PENTANGLE. This patch is hand-sewn metal bullion decoration in gold and silver, a red velvet crown, pearlized glass seed beads, blue translucent glass seed beads, red translucent glass seed beads, and a central pearl. Patch is sewn on a white linen backing, and there is a blue stamp mark on the linen, which I cannot read.Size ---
