1/4 plate 1840’s to 1850’s Jefferson Davis daguerreotype. Unknown publisher. Newly discovered by lil ol me. Davis was the 23rd US Secretary of War, a Mississippi Senator and the President of the CSA. There is a “maybe” JD daguerreotype slated to go at one of the big sale houses soon. The listing actually has “maybe him” in the description. My listings is priced at about the start offer of the almighty sale house “maybe” listing. I have no maybe in my description. If you can’t make Davis, this listing ain’t for you. About 3 1/4 by 4 1/2 inch in the frame. Copper plate daguerreotype. Stains, toning, wear, scratches and creasing. Feel free to ask questions.
