From 1700’s. Exclusive! This stunning hand mirror is a rare treasure from the 1700s — over 300 years old — and carries a rich and romantic history. Originally purchased by my great-grandmother in the 1920s from an antique boutique in Paris, this mirror is part of an exclusive vanity set dating back to the 1770s, the very era when Marie Antoinette married King Louis XVI.
The mirror features a delicate hand-painted portrait of Marie Antoinette, believed to have been created as part of a commemorative collection celebrating her royal marriage. Measuring approximately 13 inches in length and 5.5 inches wide, it is both an elegant and meaningful piece of history.
Only the mirror is being offered for sale, but I am happy to include the remaining two pieces of the original vanity set if the buyer is interested.
