Great pair of original tintypes of a dog. Scratched in the background above his head on each tintype is his name, Sam Esselstyn, Clinton, NY, August 1872. Based on other photos of the family that I have, I am pretty sure that his owners' names were Harlow and Anna Esselstyn.
Tintypes are in overall very good or better antique condition with only one extremely light bend between the two of them. The larger one is approximately 4 1/4" x 2 1/2".
