Today you are purchasing one rare full slice specimen of NWA 15937 Carbonaceous Chondrite CO3.05 Meteorite from Northwest Africa.THIS IS ONLY THE 2nd CO3.05 EVER to be CLASSIFIED.Below is the data for my classification. Extremely rare classification and a great addition to your collection.
THE 100 CLUB IS A NEW CATEGORY I HAVE MADE. IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION LAST YEAR THAT A LOT OF MY CLASSIFICATIONS, ESPECIALLY THE OLDER ONES FROM 2006 AND ON, WON'T EVER HIT 100 IN SPECIMENS MADE AVAILABLE. I WILL BE STARTING AT MY FIRST CLASSIFICATIONS AND GOING THROUGH THEM ONE BY ONE THIS YEAR AND FIGURING OUT HOW MANY WILL MAKE IT TO THE 100 CLUB AND HOW MANY WILL KEEP GOING BEYOND THAT. A LOT OF THIS DEPENDS ON THE ORIGINAL WEIGHT CLASSIFIED IN THE BEGINNING, MAKING THEM MUCH MORE RARE AND VERY LOW NUMBERS. SOME SPECIMENS WILL BARELY MAKE IT TO THE 100 CLUB. I HAD NO IDEA YEARS AGO THAT I WOULD DO THE TUCSON AND DENVER SHOWS FOR 10 YEARS AND THEN BIG UNIVERISITIES WOULD GOBBLE UP LARGE SPECIMENS MAKING MY WEIGHTS GO DOWN VERY FAST WITH SOME OF THESE CLASSIFICATIONS. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS SECTION, WHEN THEY ARE GONE, THEY ARE GONE. ALL SPECIMENS COA'S WILL BE MARKED 009 OF 100, ETC. METEORITES ARE ALL ABOUT COLLECTIBILITY AND PROVENANCE AND I'M A RECORD KEEPING FOOL OF MY COLLECTION FOR 20+YEARS. I'VE CREATED A LIBRARY TO MY LEFT, LOL. CHEERS!

Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3.05)
History: Purchased by Sean Tutorow from a Western Sahara contact in 2019. Location and date of find, unknown.
Petrography: (C. Herd and D. Poon-Matsune,UAb) Optical and microprobe examination of a polished thin section shows numerous chondrules in the range up to ~500 µm, average ~200 μm, with CAIs/AOAs and isolated olivine and pyroxene grains observed throughout. Sulfides are present, but rare and mostly altered. FeNi metal is present mainly as <50 µm inclusions in Type I olivine. Matrix ~30% of mode (estimated).
Geochemistry: (C. Herd and A. Locock,UAb) Data obtained by EMP examination of carbon-coated thin section: All olivine Fa21±16(n=41); ferroan chondrule olivine Fa24.1±9.5, Cr2O3=0.23±0.11 (n=20); low-Ca pyroxene (mineral clasts and chondrules) Fs2±1Wo0.9±0.3(n=4).
Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3.05), type 3.05 based on the mean value and standard deviation of Cr2O3in ferroan olivine(Grossman and Brearley, 2005); these values are similar toColonyandYamato 81020.
