1860’s to 1870’s Belle Starr cdv. Published in Carthage Missouri. Starr was born in Carthage. She was an outlaw that at a time ran with the James-Younger gang. Like most of the Wild West outlaws of Missouri of her time, Belle’s life of crime was spurned by US Civil War crimes. Like Jesse James and others in the James-Younger gang, Belle had family members raped and murdered by the Union Army. Most of Belle’s family would relocate in the years after the war including Belle. Belle’s first husband was James Reed. One of Quantrill’s Raiders. He was gunned down in 1874. Her second husband was Native American. There are unconfirmed rumors Belle married Charles Younger in 1878 for 3 weeks, so Sam Starr may have been at least her third husband. Sam Starr was shot to death in 1886. Belle was murdered in 1889 in the Muskogee Nation of the Indian Territory(now Oklahoma). Cdv is about 2 by 4 inch. Stains, toning and wear. Feel free to ask questions.
