Extremely rare original c.1924–1925 panoramic photograph of the International Business Machines Corp. office on the Atlantic City Boardwalk — one of the earliest known street-level IBM storefront images. I could not locate another example online with the iconic “Minutes Saved” clock.

This is a true early IBM artifact from the years immediately after the 1924 name change from C-T-R to IBM, making it a key piece for collectors of early American technology and business history.

The photograph shows a large group assembled in front of the IBM office, with surrounding Boardwalk architecture visible in sharp detail. A great bonus is the presence of Taber’s Toyland, clearly seen on the right side of the image — a famous Atlantic City Boardwalk landmark of the era.

Condition

The photograph presents beautifully as framed. Some age-typical wear is present, including several creases and a 1–2" tear near the bottom left, plus a smaller tear on the right edge (see photos). These do not significantly detract when displayed.

Why This Photograph Is Important

Early IBM photographs — especially storefronts — are scarce, and panoramic examples are vanishingly rare. This is one of the earliest public-facing uses of the IBM name ever captured on film. A centerpiece for any IBM, technology, Atlantic City, or early American business collection.
