Herschede Model 250 Grandfather Clock, Spanish olive ash veneered case with brass stringing, beveled glass door and sides, nine-tube quarter-hour and hour strike, chime and strike silent selector, eight-day movement with lyre pendulum, hand-engraved 14kt gold-plated dial with Arabic numerals and brass spandrels, Whitington, Westminster, and Canterbury chime selector, ht. 87 1/2 in.

Brass dial signed Herschede has an 11 in. silvered chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, moon phase with silvered arch, sub dials for Chime/Silent & Westminster/ Whittington/ Canterbury chimes, fancy pierced brass and engraved center & corner spandrels with pierced hands; brass 8 day weight driven movement signed Herschede, 635679 with crown, has deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, quality brass pulleys, brass covered weights & pendulum bob with lyre sash and steel pendulum stick, 9 silvered tubes. In an excellent burled walnut case highlighted with brass strapped corners and edges, Bombay style base, broken arch crest with seashell pediment and carved corner finials; brass plaque inside of the door reads American Made By Herschede The Clock Model 250. Excellent condition and original finish, has original door and winding key. 97 in. high x 24 in. wide x 14 in. deep.
