Walt Disney Productions, 1933. Rare two-page typed letter signed by Walt Disney as “Walter E Disney,” serving as an addendum to the landmark May 1933 agreement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for animated cartoon sequences in the photoplay that became Hollywood Party (1934).

Dated Los Angeles, California, September 18, 1933, and addressed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Corporation in Culver City, this original two-page document formally confirms and expands upon the May 15, 1933 agreement. It engages Walt Disney Productions to create, produce, and deliver an additional animated cartoon sequence (of the Silly Symphony type, in color) for MGM’s upcoming photoplay. The letter references the original agreement in detail, outlines terms for the new sequence, delivery expectations, rights, compensation, and conditions for use or non-use in the final film. It is boldly signed “Walter E. Disney” as President of Walt Disney Productions, Ltd., with the approval and acceptance signature of the legendary MGM Vice President and "Hollywood Fixer" Eddie Mannix.

This addendum is directly tied to one of the earliest major outside-studio collaborations for Disney animation. The resulting film, Hollywood Party (1934), featured stars including Jimmy Durante and Laurel & Hardy, and included the notable Technicolor animated sequence “The Hot Chocolate Soldiers,” introduced by Mickey Mouse (voiced by Walt Disney) in his first appearance in a feature film.

Page 2 has a number seven at bottom, Hollywood Party poster and references to May 6 page document not included. Overall 2 pages in Very Good condition.
