This impressive Latin American processional staff head (cofradía finial) features a dramatic burst of radiant rays, a repoussé central medallion with a holy figure and floral motifs, and a series of small bells traditionally used to create sound during religious processions. These finials were carried by members of local cofradías (religious brotherhoods) during feast days, Holy Week, and other ceremonial events throughout Mexico, Peru, and the Andean region.
Crafted from hand‑worked metal and stamped with a crown workshop mark on the reverse, the piece reflects the devotional metalwork typical of Mexican and Andean artisans. The turned metal base allows it to stand independently for display, though it originally would have been mounted atop a wooden processional staff.
