Vintage original c. late 1920s–1930s press photograph featuring A.A. Milne, his son Christopher Robin Milne, and the real Winnie-the-Pooh teddy bear that inspired one of the most beloved characters in children’s literature. This is an authentic period press print with editor’s markings, newsroom stamps, and handwritten captions identifying the subjects.

This photograph shows Christopher Robin seated with the original Pooh bear in his lap while A.A. Milne sits beside him, creating an iconic portrait that directly connects to the origins of Winnie-the-Pooh. Images that include the actual stuffed bear are among the rarest Milne photographs and are highly sought after by collectors of children’s literature, British authors, and early Pooh material.

The reverse includes a “Kill-Save Photo” newsroom stamp, publication notes, and editorial handwriting from the period. Only very light crop marks are present with red coloring on one spot, typical of authentic press usage and confirming its editorial origin. Image remains clean, sharp, and far better preserved than most press photos of this age.

Remains good for age. I already explained the editing marks present but there are some creases along the bordering and some small chips (tiny), along with a few tiny cuts on spots of the bordering.
