When you add water to the top of the lotus blossoms,they become little 'islands' for birds to land on or, for turtles to climb on.14" across the rim and 3" deep.
UPDATE: About 25 years ago an all-pink version of this same bowl was put up for sale in Singapore (see last photo above). After many years of research, this is the ONLY other example of this bowl that we are aware of. Back then, they (private collectors) described their bowl as Macau, circa 1970s. We don't know why they assigned it to Macau or what price it achieved. As far as the circa 1970s (50yrs old) date, we believe our bowl's age-worn, silk brocade box suggests it's much earlier.
