Low, lean, and beautifully resolved, the Adler Tippa S is a European portable whose design makes immediate sense the moment you begin typing. It is compact without feeling compromised, mechanically refined without becoming fussy, and unusually good at disappearing beneath your hands once the writing begins.

This example dates to 1975 according to its serial number, placing it within the mature years of West German Adler production. By then, decades of portable-typewriter engineering had been distilled into an exceptionally capable little machine. Its low profile, broad keyboard, generous paper table, and smooth carriage action all feel deliberate. It was made to travel without feeling like a diminished version of a proper desk typewriter.

Finished in warm ivory with black keys and restrained chrome accents, this Tippa S has an elegant simplicity that has aged remarkably well. Its proportions still look modern, and it appears as natural on a contemporary writing desk as it might have in a European design studio half a century ago.

Typing Impression

Condition

This is an especially attractive, well-preserved example. The warm ivory finish remains bright, with only light evidence of careful use over the years. The Adler and Tippa S badges remain sharp, the keyboard presents beautifully, and the chrome carriage-return lever retains an excellent shine.

A few small cosmetic marks are present, consistent with the machine's age, but none significantly detract from its overall presentation.
