Additionally Hamblet went on to found the W Union Time service in NYC
The case is solid American Black Walnut in fine condition Very tall at 77”
The Pendelum is a Howard damacened Bob and the movement is signed E Howard Boston
Fewer than eight of these clocks were produced by Edmond and Hamblet and they were only listed for one year in Howard’s sales literature before Hamblet went on to found the Union time service. Most of the other cases were not Black Walnut nor did they have the gothic design flair of this example

Movement is signed Edmands and Hamblet Boston.
These gentlemen were prolific inventors and leaders in advancing high quality electric horology.
In this case Mr Hamblet is credited with inventing this clock. It is a high quality weight driven timepiece with the secondary movement being electro-mechanical, used to record a watchman's activity on a paper disc.
Not many were built before Edward Howard recognized the commercial potential and hired Mr Hamblet to come and work for him, building versions of the clock.
Howard made this announcement once in his catalog and he is never mentioned again. It is known that Hamblet was also building Astronomical Regulators for Howard as well.
Hamblet came up through the ranks of companies like W.
Bond in Boston and only produced quality mechanisms.
They also mentored and built items for Mr. Edison.
After working at E. Howard, Mr Hamblet went on to form the U nion Time Service and was instrumental in getting congress to standardize the time zones for the safety of railroad service.
