This listing is for an exceptionally rare and fully authenticated Raymond C. Yard Inc. solid 14K yellow gold cigarette case, weighing an impressive 131 grams, and complete with its original Yard New York leather presentation sleeve. Raymond C. Yard (est. 1922) is widely recognized as one of America’s finest luxury jewelers, known for supplying elite clients including the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Woolworths, and prominent New York society. Yard gold accessories—especially heavy-gauge personal items—are extremely scarce and rarely come to market.
This example features a refined geometric ribbed exterior with black inlay accents and a monogram tablet engraved W.S.R., consistent with Yard’s mid-century commissioned executive gifts. The interior includes the original pierced retainer bar, lightly stamped R.C. YARD, INC. and 14K, with Yard’s characteristic shallow hallmarking technique. The matching Bluish Green leather slipcase is gold-stamped “Raymond C. Yard Inc – New York”, confirming its original retail origin.
The case opens and closes smoothly with excellent hinge integrity, and the overall condition is outstanding for a solid-gold functional object of this age. Yard goldwork is renowned for its precision, understated elegance, and exceptionally high quality—traits fully reflected in this piece.
This is not merely a gold case; it is a museum-worthy Raymond Yard artifact from the golden era of American luxury craftsmanship.⭐ ITEM DETAILS

⭐ RAYMOND YARD HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Raymond C. Yard founded his New York firm in 1922 after a distinguished early career at Marcus & Co. His reputation for discretion, refinement, and exceptional taste quickly attracted America’s wealthiest families, including the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, and Woolworths. Yard’s work is considered among the finest American jewelry of the 20th century, especially his platinum Art Deco designs, intricate gemstone compositions, and limited-production gold personal accessories.
Yard’s pieces were crafted in small numbers, with uncompromising attention to detail. His clientele expected the highest standards of luxury, and his shop delivered objects that were understated, elegant, and meticulously made. Functional gold accessories—such as this cigarette case—were often private commissions or executive gifts, produced far less frequently than Yard’s jewelry. Surviving examples of Yard gold cases are now regarded as collectible treasures of American design.⭐ WHY THIS CASE IS RARE AND DESIRABLE
  • Authentic signed Raymond C. Yard piece — a coveted name among American jewelry collectors
  • Heavy solid 14K construction (131 grams) — rare for personal accessories
  • Original presentation sleeve — dramatically increases provenance and completeness
  • Scarce category: Yard gold cigarette cases were made in extremely small numbers
  • Museum-level craftsmanship: precision machining, elegant ribbed geometry, clean monogram panel
  • Fully functional: hinge and clasp remain tight and smooth
  • Mid-century executive gift pedigree: consistent with Yard’s exclusive clientele
  • High intrinsic value: substantial gold weight plus strong collector premium
⭐ COLLECTOR APPEAL
To advanced collectors of American luxury objects, Raymond Yard represents the pinnacle of refined craftsmanship and exclusivity. Signed Yard accessories—especially heavy solid-gold cases—rarely appear outside major estates or curated sales. This example’s completeness, exceptional weight, and original leather sleeve make it a standout offering. It embodies the elegance and precision that define Yard’s legacy, and it represents a rare opportunity to acquire a functional gold object from one of the most prestigious jewelers of the 20th century.⭐ COLLECTOR NOTE
The survival of both the case and its original Yard-signed presentation sleeve is highly unusual and enhances authenticity. Heavy-gauge solid gold objects from this era were often melted during periods of high gold prices, making intact Yard pieces especially scarce today. The lightly struck hallmark is consistent with Yard’s known stamping practices and contributes to its verification. This example would be at home in a private collection, museum exhibition, or advanced American jewelry archive.⭐ SELLER NOTES
This is one of the finest Raymond Yard personal accessories I have ever handled. The weight, condition, provenance, and completeness place it among the strongest examples likely to appear in private hands. Serious collectors will immediately recognize the rarity and quality of this piece.
