Beautiful large format proof featuring Delacroix in bust and profile; one of the French painter’s most famous portraits.

The pose session in Pierre Petit’s studio dates from 1862. We know of other portraits, in different postures, from that same session." Some of these are kept at the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée Carnavalet, and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
